GoosLock, LLC was formed in 2004 to manufacture and market a new lock for gooseneck trailers. The lock was invented and patented by Larry Hogan, the owner, to secure livestock trailers used on his ranch in Oklahoma.

The GoosLock takes a new approach to locking a parked trailer. It works in cooperation with coupler components to disable normal coupler operation and allow a coupler to become self-locking. When installed, the lock prevents a coupler from accepting a 2-5/16 inch and other standard towing-balls.

The GoosLock is precision laser cut from T-1 (ASTM A514) plate steel. It has a yield and tensile strength of 100,000 compared to typical plate steel strength of 38,000. It is extremely hard to cut with a hacksaw or to bend or break.

The Padlock is designed specifically for GoosLock, LLC. The design includes a narrow shackle gap, case hardened rotating steel shackle, and built-in anti-saw rods. The design prevents the use of boltcutters and makes it difficult to defeat the lock using a hacksaw. All locks are keyed different, and the key is retained when unlocked.
